I'd like to preface this wish list with a note about consumerism. There are not a lot of things in this world that I actually need that I don't already have. So if you have a creative idea for a craft, or would like to gift me with your time or trade services of some sort (like cooking me dinner or washing my dishes) I would love it even more than something you found in a store. That said, here's a list of things in stores that I have long wanted. :)
For the Kitchen
- A new 10" frying pan
- A set of ceramic bowls with rubber-ring bottoms and pour spouts on the side
- Any handmade pottery mugs or bowls with swirly blue and green or blue and purple glaze
- A meat thermometer
- Some really expensive knives
- One of those big wooden paddle things to use with my pizza stone (which I still have to get from my parents' house)
- A bread machine
- An electric mixer
- An ice cream maker
- ...and if you ever win the lottery, a VitaMix
Clothing
- A heavy wool coat, possibly trench coat style, either black or a shade of gray that matches my fedora
- The "Tara" dress from the Deva catalog
Books
- No specific ideas right now, but books are always high on my list. Think gift card. ;)
Magazine Subscriptions
- Permaculture Activist Magazine
- Loving More
- The Vegetarian Times or other cooking-related mags
Garden-related
- It may sound funny, but I can always use a big bag of potting soil.
- pretty pots for the patio, various sizes, made of something light like platic or resin
